The formula

P(h hits) = C(n, h) × C(80 − n, 20 − h) / C(80, 20)

n is your pick count, h is the hit count, and C(a, b) counts combinations. The denominator C(80, 20) is 3,535,316,142,212,174,320, the number of possible 20-number draws from an 80-number board. This calculator computes the combination counts exactly and divides at full precision.

Frequently asked questions

What are the odds of hitting all 10 numbers in keno?

Catching 10 out of 10 on a ten-spot ticket is about 1 in 8,911,711 in a standard 80-number game with 20 numbers drawn.

How are keno odds calculated?

Keno odds use combinations. The probability of exactly h hits from n picks is C(n, h) times C(80 minus n, 20 minus h), divided by C(80, 20).

What pick count has the best odds of winning something?

Small pick counts hit more often but pay less. The chance of at least one hit rises with more picks, while big payouts on large pick counts are much rarer. The odds calculator shows both exact and at-least probabilities for every pick count.
